A Stylish Living Room Transformation
Two wonderful members of the stylish Rock My Style team recently asked us to create a cupboard for their living room.
We were delighted to help with their refurbishment project which was called Rock My Room.
A Custom Jali Solution
We designed and supplied a Jali cupboard kit to perfectly fit their space and Lauren and James then assembled the kit as part of their room makeover.

Building the Jali Cupboard
Here you can see the cupboard during the assembly process, before the doors were added.
Creating Practical Storage
Lauren explained that the space beside the chimney breast needed a better solution.
The alcove area had previously held a plain TV cupboard, but they wanted something a bit more useful. They imagined a larger piece of storage where they could keep CDs, and all their media equipment neatly organised.
Mixing New and Upcycled Pieces
The Jali cupboard was one of the new additions to the room, but the transformation also included many treasured, upcycled finds as well as pieces from ebay.
That combination is something we love about the project. Lauren and James clearly planned every detail carefully, creating a stylish room while watching the budget.
The Growing Trend of Reuse
The conversation around reusing and recycling continues to expand. Even the House of Lords discussed the idea this week, using the term “circular economy”.
The name may not sound riveting, but the principle is clear: make better use of what we already have.

Seeing Jali Furniture in Real Homes
We always enjoy seeing our furniture after it leaves our workshop and becomes a special part of someone’s home.
Often, we only see our pieces as carefully wrapped parts ready to go. Seeing them fully assembled and styled in a real space makes us happy and gives us a completely different perspective.
A Special Kind of Feedback
This project has been one of the most rewarding examples yet.

Well Handled
So far, Lauren hasn’t been able to find the perfect (affordable) handles she dreams of for her Jali cupboard. But given her record of success so far, I can’t see them eluding her for long… Enjoy your gorgeous new room, you two!
