All Jali opportunities are currently based at the cutting-edge Jali factory & offices in Barham near Canterbury, Kent. The company has been established for over 30 years, providing bespoke furniture solutions to customers across the country. Jali customers can design their ideal furniture online, and this custom information is passed to the factory automatically to be cut by CNC, processed, painted, and packed. To deal with the huge number of unique parts each day, Jali is reliant on software and systems, and we are keen to hear from people who share our commitment to advanced technologies and efficient workflow.
This role will be based within the Jali office, 9am-5.30pm Monday to Friday. You will work closely alongside the office manager, undertaking responsibility for various sales, marketing and administrative tasks.
Because every product we manufacture is unique we are reliant on in-house computer systems, and so the ideal candidate will be comfortable dealing with software, will share our enthusiasm for maintaining good order, and have an eye for details and numbers.
You should be capable of guiding customers through the Jali designer confidently, which requires an excellent telephone manner, a technical understanding, and the desire to learn and develop new skills. An interest in interior design, furniture design and DIY is a bonus!
We appreciate a high degree of integrity. There is a lot to learn at Jali, so you must be prepared to develop new skills rapidly, and be comfortable asking for help when necessary.
If you are interested in this position, please send an email to Adriana at aaf@jali.co.uk with your CV attached.
This role will be based within the Jali factory, taking responsibility for your own specific workstation, and working as part of a small team. You will help to ensure the efficient processing of unique wooden parts, whether operating machinery, assembling components, painting & sanding, packing, or other associated tasks. Staff are sometimes moved between workstations, to ensure greater personal development and a stronger team understanding. You will report to the workshop supervisor. The role offers benefits including holiday, overtime opportunities, parking and the chance to be part of the changing face of British manufacture. You will be required Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm.
Jali is not the average factory. Because every product we manufacture is unique, there is a greater emphasis on computer systems to keep production flowing in an organised and efficient manner. The ideal candidate will share our enthusiasm for maintaining these systems. Care and attention to detail are required, as well as the desire to achieve and exceed daily production targets. You will value team spirit, and do your bit to preserve a happy, productive and safe working environment.
We appreciate a high degree of integrity. There is a lot to learn at Jali, so you must be prepared to develop new skills rapidly, and be comfortable asking for help when necessary. The opportunity will be extremely rewarding for the right candidate.

We'd be interested to hear from anyone of a technical persuasion; whether you're a programmer, designer, engineer or all-round nerd. As a bespoke manufacturer, Jali is heavily reliant on computer systems and machinery which have largely been built in-house. For the right person, the Jali factory is a multi-disciplinary playground of opportunity, as we look to improve our production capacity yet further. Since every project is unique, drawing on different skills and perhaps niche experience, we're interested in candidates with open minds, common sense and a self-motivated desire to learn.
We're not too fussy about qualifications, but we are keen to hear about any relevant experience or projects you've undertaken - successful or otherwise - that demonstrate your interest in solving problems, or just making cool stuff. Have you ever built a machine, and if so, what? Have you disassembled (and reassembled...) an engine? Programmed an Arduino? Wired up a circuit? Made a website? Have you ever hacked the Pentagon? (Don't.)
We'd like to give the right candidate the opportunity to learn new skills and apply your own, working alongside our technical team.
If you are interested in this position, please send an email dbs@jali.co.uk. CV Optional.
