Create your own Jali made to measure bookcases to fit any space, including against corners or inside alcoves. Simply adjust the size, style, finish and fitting options in our free 3D Jali Designer and we'll deliver your bespoke bookcase in just a few weeks.
The versatile Jali designer lets you create anything from tall and narrow bookcases to low and large bookcases, all the way up to an enormous fitted library. We also offer alcove bookcases as well as wall-mounted bookcases. You can easily level each section for the perfect result, even on uneven floors.
Size Options
What bookcase sizes do you sell?
Any! You can customise the bookcase height, width and depth in the Jali designer to get the perfect fit for your home. The improved designer lets you create bookcases from 50cm up to 10 metres wide, and anything in between.
Can I adjust the shelving?
Yes, you can set the height of each individual shelf to the millimetre.
Can I adjust the top on larger units?
You can design your unit to be anywhere from 40cm up to 3 metres tall. For shorter units, the top would typically be a full solid board, i.e. a countertop. For taller units, you can choose to have just a top 'lip' instead. This may be in one part or several, depending on the fit and how deep the unit is. This is far more practical when the top is above head height.
Style Options
What bookcase features can I adjust?
You can adjust the moulding style on the bookcase top and skirting, and choose from several options for the uprights. Your bookcase can include several sections. Each section can feature an independent configuration of shelving and vertical dividers.
I don't want the plinth...
You can easily remove the bookcase plinth in the Jali designer. This is useful if you want to wall mount your bookcase, or place it on top of other furniture.
Fitting Options
What if it's going in an alcove?
You can easily set whether your bookcase should be freestanding, corner fitting, or to be fitted within an alcove. Jali alcove bookcases are intended to be flush with the alcove, or slightly recessed back.
Can I fit the bookcase to my skirting?
Jali lets you set the bookcase skirting height to match your room skirting board. You can then scribe the unit skirting to fit perfectly. If you prefer, you can include a rectangular gap for your skirting instead.
Oh no, my walls aren't straight!
To help fit your bookcase against wonky walls, you can extend the overhang (at the back) and the insets (at the sides). This will give you enough scribing margin for the perfect fit.
