Delivery Terms and Conditions

Delivery cost

Deliveries are free of charge within England, Wales and "Industrial" Scotland (UK Zone 1). However, we apply a £7.50 handling charge for orders under £50.

All other areas have different pricing structures and delivery periods depend on the order weight. Prices vary quite widely but we merely pass on the cost. Your delivery cost is calculated automatically and shown in the shopping basket.

For overseas deliveries there may be an extra surcharge which we'll confirm once we've received your order.

Production and standard delivery time

All made-to-measure units are designed and manufactured to your exact sizes once you have placed your order. This normally takes approximately two weeks from receipt of your order with payment; however, this depends on the items ordered, their sizes and paint finishes. The two weeks may become longer during busy periods. In exceptional circumstances we may be able to produce certain items more quickly.

All orders are sent on a next-working-day delivery service as soon as they are completed. When your order leaves us you will be notified by text or email around 4pm the working day before your scheduled delivery. If that is inconvenient you have until 10.15pm (about 6 hours) to reschedule the delivery by going online as indicated in the text. You can defer delivery for up to five days with no charge. Statistically, more than 95% of deliveries are actually completed the next day - therefore the 'next day' is not guaranteed.

Delivery is between 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday, and you must be able to accept your delivery on this basis. If your house is hard to find or you want your order delivered to a neighbour please put a short message and a contact telephone number on the order form to help the driver.

Most of our delivers are made by a third party courier parcel service. However, depending on your location and the size of the order we may use a direct van delivery, in which case you will not receive a text but we will call you in the preceding days to arrange any details.

The 'next day' service is only available for UK Zone 1. Other areas take additional days depending on destination. The expected delivery period will be shown in the basket.

Call When Ready

This service is the same as the Standard but instead of despatching your order as soon as it is complete, we hold it in our stores and telephone you to arrange despatch. If we are unable to contact you it will delay the order. We can normally hold parcels for up to five working days but we reserve the right to charge on a per-day basis after that period. Please tick the box on the order form if you require this service.

Receiving your order

Please check that the parcels are addressed to you and that all your parcels have been delivered - if not ask the driver to check the van. See the text for the number of parcels in the delivery. Your parcels may be large, heavy and/or cumbersome and you may be asked to help to move the parcels. The delivery service will take the parcels to the door of the building (or as close as is reasonably possible) but not necessarily to, or inside, the door of your residence. If access to the door is restricted (for example if you live in a block of flats or within a traffic-restricted zone) it is your responsibility to tell us this when you place the order, as it may affect the delivery.

Damaged parcels

When receiving a delivery please check it for obvious damage. If you receive a damaged parcel, sign for it with "damaged but contents unchecked" and let us know which parts are damaged. We will remake and send them free-of-charge as quickly as possible.

Failed delivery

If the van driver is unable to deliver because you were out they will leave you a card advising of the attempted delivery. If they do this please call the number on the card as soon as possible (not us) to rearrange delivery. If the van is still in your area they will try to return that day to make the delivery. They will only attempt delivery three times; then they will return the goods to us. This will incur a return cost for us and a re-delivery cost for you the customer.

Late delivery

We will always do our very best to get deliveries to you without inconvenience, and our performance record is very good. However, due to the nature of the service we offer and the delivery companies, we cannot guarantee the delivery time or day, so please do not arrange to have fitters or builders waiting for a delivery. Therefore, if you use our services, you must accept these circumstances. We are unable to accept liability for any consequential losses.

Order Terms and Conditions

Order acknowledgement and progress

Orders placed on the website are collected and logged onto our production system automatically. When a web order is logged into the system you will be sent confirmation by email. If your order is not showing as logged-in then you have not sent the order successfully. Once an order and payment is received it could immediately proceed into production where parts will begin to be manufactured. You can monitor the progress of your order and its manufacture in Order history.

Order errors

Once we receive your order it is passed to our automated manufacturing system and some parts could be made within an hour of your order, hence the need for you to check dimensions, design and colour carefully. If we make a mistake we will replace items free of charge as quickly as we can. However, if you find you have made a mistake we will advise you on how to solve it and will make replacement parts as fast as possible but we may, at our discretion, ask you to pay a cost depending on what is involved.

Payment

Our preferred terms of business are online credit or debit card payment at time of order. Online card authorisation is performed automatically when you confirm your order. Normally you will be advised immediately if there is a problem. If you wish you can select 'Omit' at the payment method stage and send a cheque or call us with your credit card details. However, this will delay the progress of your order. When paying this way please wait for our order confirmation email before calling so you can quote the Work Order reference number. Also please note your order will not be progressed until payment is made. If you must use a cheque please make it payable to Jali Ltd.

Minimum order

We do not have a minimum order value. However, we apply a £7.50 delivery charge to orders below £50 in value.

Prices

Whenever a design is created or changed the price is calculated using a sophisticated system which takes into account the exact work, time and materials required to make your particular item. Therefore if you alter the size by even a small amount the price may change. Sometimes it may appear to "jump" but this is usually because more fixings or materials have been introduced (for example, another set of hinges on doors in a cupboard). Prices quoted within the Jali Designer are valid for 90 days. If items are ordered after this period they will be automatically re-calculated at the time of order. From time to time, as we update our raw material costs, our selling prices will change. Our policy is to do this frequently so we never have large price changes. All prices on this website supersede all previous publications.

Cancellation

Once we have received and accepted your order it cannot normally be cancelled as we may start to manufacture your parts immediately. Parts made which are no longer required cannot be economically reused and can only be destroyed. However at our discretion, depending on how far advanced your order is, we may accept cancellation and refund part or all of the order value.

General Terms and Conditions

Jali products & service

We want our products and service to exceed your expectations. To help ensure this please read the following information. Jali's products are bespoke parts or self-assembly kits that allow you to quickly produce a very professional job with limited tools and skills. They are specifically made for you to your sizes. Accordingly, we are not required, by law, to accept their return. However, we do not want to 'catch you with the small print'. We want you to take time and get the measurements correct so you are delighted with the results. Look through our gallery and other areas to see what others have achieved.

Depending on what you order you will require a level of practical common sense to assemble, fit and paint (if you have chosen an unpainted finish) your item.

Guarantee

We have thousands of satisfied customers and we want you to be one of them. If you are unsure about Jali products we make the following offer: If you are unhappy with your order, call us and explain the problem and give us the opportunity to resolve the situation. If we are unable to resolve the situation, return the unit to us within 30 days from delivery date and we will refund the cost of the item (up to a maximum of £250 inc VAT). Returns which have not been agreed or are beyond this time period will not be accepted.

The Jali Designer

The Jali Designer aims to provide an accurate representation of the finished product, but some details are impossible to recreate accurately in the 3D computer model. As always, colours and finishes may also vary, especially taking into account different rooms and lighting conditions.

Measurements and specification

Please take great care when measuring up for your units. Familiarise yourself with the diagrams and the terms we use. Overall sizes are the full outside dimensions. Please take thicknesses into account when working out internal clearances. Once orders go into production, mistakes can only be rectified by remaking parts and throwing the incorrect pieces away. If you have any doubts please call our technical sales team who will be happy to help. Radiator cover clearances should only be reduced with careful consideration. Avoid reducing the height clearance as this will impair performance. You may be able to avoid certain problems with the 18mm top board option.

Discount

We do not offer a quantity discount as all made-to-measure products are made as a one-off.

VAT and overseas

All Jali prices include UK VAT at the current rate.

EU private customers must pay VAT.

EU business customers do not need to pay UK VAT but they must prove they are a business with either a valid VAT number or formal letter from their tax authority.

This is correct as of May 2017 but obviously European arrangements may change in the coming years.

Private or business customers outside of the EU are not required to pay VAT but Jali must be able to prove we have sent the goods to a non-EU address. Therefore, if you collect your goods or ask us to send them to a UK address you must pay the VAT.

The Channel Islands are not part of the UK or the EU so are treated as outside of the EU.

Overseas purchasers

We are happy to supply to overseas customers. Use the 'Omit' option at the payment stage. This will allow you to place the order without making payment.

We will contact you by email as soon as possible with a delivery cost for your order. Depending on weight and destination, extra charges may apply over and above the amounts shown by our online system. In most cases we prefer you to arrange your own collection from our factory, or we can deliver to any UK address for you to collect or forward from there. Alternatively, it is possible for us to arrange a courier to your (non-UK) address on your behalf, but please note that in this case we cannot offer any returns or damage claims. These issues must be covered by the purchaser.

If you wish to feature material or images found on this website please contact us so we can supply the most suitable material. These are made available free-of-charge for journalists, bloggers, retailers and agents for the period of your promotion. Jali has a high-profile public image and as such Jali images must be used in a professional manner to a high standard whether digital or in print. Please note by the acceptance and use of the image you hereby agree to accept Jali's conditions of use set out below.

1. Digital images may not be passed on to third parties other than a designer, printer or website developer working on your behalf.
2. Images shall not be altered or manipulated, added to, or have any part deleted other than appropriate or moderate cropping.
3. The image must not be used to promote, pass off or misrepresent a competitor's product or service.
4. You must provide us with a proof or complimentary copy of any publication, digital or in print, in which the image appears.

6. Images must not be held or stored and must be deleted or returned after the stated period of use.

We do not sell or give away details provided by our customers. If you place an order with us we encrypt your information (name, address and payment details) in a form that no other people, websites or internet users can access. The paragraphs below explain this in more detail.

What information is stored about me?

If you're just looking at the website, or trying out the Jali Designer, we don't collect any personal information about you at all. The site uses cookies stored on your computer, which are essential for the site to work. Your browser has options for reviewing cookies, deleting them and disabling them entirely.

If you want to keep a design for later, you'll just need to enter your email address and a password. This is so that you can use the same email and password if you want to look at your design later.

If you want to place an order, we'll need to know your full name, address and telephone number, so that we can acknowledge the order to you.

How do you protect my credit card information when I order?

Your credit card information is retained only during the checkout process. When you submit your order, the details are forwarded to the credit card company in a securely encrypted format which ensures that no other party can read it.

At the end of the ordering process (whether you have sent the order or not), credit card details are no longer held. We never store them permanently.

Do you use cookies?

Cookies are an essential part of how our site works. By using our site, you consent to the use of these cookies. By amending your computer settings you can stop cookies from being used but this will impair your web experience.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your PC, phone or other web-enabled device when you visit the Jali website. They are not harmful and do not contain any confidential information such as your home address, date of birth or credit card details.
